26/05/2008: The Hotusa Group and Banc Sabadell promote a prize for innovation and talent in the tourist industry

Thepresident ofthe Hotusa Group, Amancio López Seijas  and the chairman of Banc Sabadell , Josep Oliu  have signed an agreement to promote the i+T Awards for innovation and talent in the tourist industry. With this agreement, the two companies do not seek solely to recognise the best business initiatives in the field of tourism, hospitality and leisure but also to invest in the winning projects so as to make them a reality.

After signing the agreement, López Seijas stated that “in Grupo Hotusa we firmly believe that the talent and an enterprising approach are basic factors for innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of the tourist sector. We are convinced there are many people with talent, involvement and an enterprising nature, capable of contributing to the development of our sector but who are yet to have an opportunity. With this prize award, we wish to offer them that opportunity and enable their projects to become business realities”.

The chairman of Banc Sabadell, Josep Oliu underlined that “The creation of the Prizes for Innovation and Talent in the Tourist Sector express Banco Sabadell’s commitment to innovative companies and especially with those of this important economic sector.  The formula we have chosen to promote the projects of these companies is, per se, innovative and reflects our commitment to lend them “financial muscle”, going beyond merely financing the prize and participating in the start-up, management and consolidation of their projects“.

The prizes, aimed at your entrepreneurs up to age 35, have two categories: one for new projects which will receive a capital contribution and the necessary finance up to a maximum of 100,000 euros; and a second for the best company or initiative related with the tourist sector which is in the start-up phase, which will receive a convertible participative loan of up to 300,000 euros.
