The 5th edition of the Hotusa Forum, celebrated last week by the Hotusa Group and to which more than 500 Hotel professionals, Travel Agencies and other tourist related companies attended, had the special participation of important business and tourist representatives. In this 5th edition participated amongst others, the President of Vueling Joseph Piqué, the President of Banco Pastor Jose Maria Arias, or the General Director of Barceló Viajes Antonio Cursach.
During the inauguration of the 5th Hotusa Forum, the Secretary of State for Tourism, Joan Mezquida, announced that the upcoming State General Budget “will include a consignment of 778 million for tourism, an increase by a 109% of the current one”. According to the Secretary of State, this will be assigned to the refurbishment of the tourist structures and to the improvement of the quality, measures included in the Horizon Strategic Plan 2020.
On the other hand, the President of Vueling pointed that the airline industry will go through a process of business concentration, while the Director of Banco Pastor highlighted the strength of the Spanish Financial System. The 5th Hotusa Forum had a conference in which participated several Travel Agencies representatives where they analysed the influence of the economic current situation in the tourist industry.
